After several years wowing spectators in the North East the Lumiere light show will open in London this evening, January 14.

The free event was first commissioned by Durham County Council and opened by creative producers Artichoke in 2009.

In November 2015, the event attracted an estimated 200,000 visitors to the city.

The show is now taking place at several locations between January 14-17 across London's West End:

More than 20 international artists have been commissioned to transform buildings and streets of the capital for the first Lumiere London festival.
