Twelve flood warnings remain in place for the North East

This was the scene when a school bus became stuck in flood water between Tollerton and Newton-on-Ouse yesterday

Twelve flood warnings remain in place for the North East.They've been issued by the Environment Agency and mean that for the affected areas flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

Video of the Ouseburn at Jesmond Dene

This was the Ouseburn at Jesmond Dene yesterday.

Newcastle City Council filmed the video and were out assessing the water levels - and are warning dog walkers and runners to be careful with the river flowing so high and fast.

It was a nervous night for residents of Morpeth as the second flood defences were closed for the first time since the were installed.The Mitford Dam held though and the river levels are starting to gradually drop.
