Newcastle airport's £14m departure lounge opened

Transport minister Robert Goodwill officially opened Newcastle International Airport's revamped departure lounge.

The £14million development has seen the entire lounge transformed with a new walk-through duty free store and new food and beverage outlets.

The unveiling coincided with the launch of a new brand initiative, showcasing the full range of destinations accessible from Newcastle.

Newcastle International Airport is the largest airport in the North East, serving around 4.6m passengers every year.
