Police investigating prison breakout make two arrests
Police continuing to search for two north-east men who escaped from a prison in Doncaster have arrested two people on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Barry John Henry Lynn, aged 35, from the Scotswood area of Newcastle and Michael Forster, 41, from the Gateshead area, were reported to Northumbria Police after they escaped from Hatfield Prison, near Doncaster, at 1.06pm on Wednesday, November 25.
Police believe the two men are still in the area and enquiries are ongoing to locate and arrest them.
It is believed the men absconded from the prison at around 11:45am and travelled to the North East in a new shape blue Vauxhall Astra.
On Wednesday night police located and seized this Astra and arrested the man and woman (both aged 37). They are currently in custody helping police with enquiries.
