Ben Haenow has 'energetic set' planned for Newcastle arena
The 2014 winner of ITV's The X Factor, Ben Haenow, has returned to Newcastle - the place where he first auditioned for the talent show. He spoke to Rachel Sweeney about the city that changed his life.
Hundreds of fans flocked to HMV to see the 'Second Hand Heart' singer. He was signing copies of his new self titled album ahead of his appearance at the Metro Radio Arena for Christmas Live in December.
Ben says he is planning an 'energetic and anthemic set' for the arena where he will join a chart-topping line up including Dappy, Olly Murs and Nathan Sykes. Also on stage that evening will be Josh Daniel from Teesside who made it to Nick Grimshaw's final six boys.
Ben, who beat Play That Sax singer Fleur East to take The X Factor crown in 2014, has had a quiet year in terms of what the public has seen of him. That's because he has been in studios. He's been working in London and in LA.
Ben will feature at the arena on December 7.
