Redcar MP Anna Turley has demanded that the Government release the money it has promised for the training of former steelworkers.

Speaking in the House of Commons, she said the delay to the support package is causing additional suffering to the former steelworkers who need to find new jobs.

The Government previously promised £50 million to retrain steelworkers made redundant when the SSI plant in Redcar was closed. This investment was part of an £80 million support package which included redundancy pay.
