EXCLUSIVE: Reaction to North East devolution deals

ITV News Tyne Tees understands two devolution deals will be announced on Friday, October 23 - one for the Tees Valley combined authority, and one for the North East combined authority.

It is understood both deals will include an elected mayor, which has been heavily opposed by some councils. The mayors would likely have power over everything from transport and housing to economic investment.
