A number of North East veterans from World War Two will be presented with France's highest military honour during the Festival of Remembrance concert at Durham Cathedral on Saturday November 7.

Pipers and standard-bearers will lead the Remembrence Concert, where about a dozen veterans will be presented with the Legion D'Honneur.

Among them will be Sergeant Charles Eagles from Sunderland, who landed on the Normandy beaches on D-Day with the Durham Light Infantry.
