Woman and son charged with manslaughter

A woman has been charged with manslaughter after her son was cleared ofmurdering her husband.

George Bulman, who was in his early 70s, and was in remission from cancer, was found dead between Christmas and New Year at the home he shared with his wife Carol and son Geoffrey in Heaton, Newcastle.

Geoffrey Bulman, 45, was charged with murder following his dad's death but was cleared after a trial. He is now to face a re-trial on the alternativecharge of manslaughter later this year.

His mother, Carole Bulman, 70, of Stratford Grove West, where she had lived with her son and husband before he died, has now been charged withmanslaughter.
