Tyne Tees Weather - Unsettled weather continues
After a warm day with hazy sunshine and a strong east wind, it's all change into the evening as a cold front moves in from the southwest.
Unlike Saturday evening's thundery downpours bubbling up in the heat and humidity, this is a band of rain along a boundary of warm and humid air to the north and cooler, fresher weather behind. As the two collide there could be again some heavy and possibly thundery outbreaks as the rain moves quite quickly northwards.
Overall it's a fairly unsettled few days ahead with further showers or rain at times.
SUNDAY:
Dry through the day with plenty of sunshine. A brisk easterly breeze, particularly noticeable around the coast. Through the evening it will turn cloudier from the southwest with rain eventually moving in. Highs 22-24°C.
OVERNIGHT:
A band of cloud and rain will move northwards up the region overnight, giving some heavy bursts. All but the far north should be dry by morning with winds easing. Lows 12°C.
MONDAY:
Mostly dry and bright start, although a few showers possible over Northumberland in the far north. It will become cloudier later in the day from the south, with heavy outbreaks of rain possible later. Fresher highs to 20°C
OUTLOOK:
Breezy with a mixture of dry, bright spells and outbreaks of rain or showers throughout. Tuesday likely to be driest day but rather cloudy later. More persistent, heavy rain and strong winds possible midweek.
