Tyne Tees Weather - Settled weekend
After the last couple of days there's definitely more in the way of sunshine this weekend.
High pressure tries to edge in from the south, allowing some lengthy sunny spells to develop and fairly light winds.
Some very chilly nights to come though, as temperatures will dip down to single figures even in towns and cities.
The mid-August average daytime temperature is between 17-20°C and the overnight around 10-11°C. We're a good few degrees below this over the next few days and nights - although temperatures will rise a little as we head into next week.
Here's your written TYNE TEES forecast for the next few days.....
SATURDAY:
A fine and dry day with good spells of sunshine. With light winds it should feel fairly pleasant. Highs to 18°C.
TONIGHT:
The evening and night will continue dry with long clear periods. Winds will become calm and it will be chilly for mid-August, especially in the countryside. Lows 6°C.
SUNDAY:
A chilly but fine start to the day with long spells of sunshine and light winds. There may be the odd afternoon shower around and a little more cloud but most places will stay dry. Highs 18°C.
OUTLOOK:
Fine as we go into the start of next week with long spells of sunshine on Monday - but some chilly nights with mist and fog around. Light winds and daytime temperatures near normal. Highs 20°C
There's a risk that thicker cloud could edge back in from the the North Sea later Tuesday and into Wednesday, affecting eastern parts of the region. There is a level of uncertainty about this and it's something we're keeping our eye on.
