Newcastle Diamonds Speedway rider Lewis Kerr in hospital after crash

Lewis Kerr crashed with another rider then hit a fence during a race meeting in Peterborough.

The 25-year-old was treated at the track for more than an hour before being flown by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The meeting on Sunday was abandoned whilst treatment was taking place.

Lewis's wife Jessie has tweeted from his Twitter account asking people to keep him their thoughts and prayers.
