Crimestoppers offers reward after attempted rape of woman by River Tees

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information on the attempted rape of a woman in Thornaby.

The victim was walking her dog on the bank of the River Tees at around 9am on Monday 6th July in an area known to locals as 'Black Bobby's Field'.

A man approached her, pulled her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.

Despite hitting her head on the ground, the woman in her 40s managed to fight back and was able to escape her attacker.

She suffered injuries during the assault and as a result, required hospital treatment.
