Rugby World Cup trophy begins its tour of the North East
The Web Ellis Trophy has begun its five day journey across our region to mark 50 days until the Rugby World Cup.
The trophy started its journey from Hadrian's Wall at 6am, before passing through Hexham and Newcastle on its way to Alnwick.
It will spend the next three days around Tyneside before calling in at West Hartlepool and Darlington Mowden park rugby clubs on the way to Yorkshire.
St James' Park will host three group games on the 3rd, 9th and 10th October.
