Teenager's fundraising challenge in memory of friend
A North Yorkshire teenager is raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service in memory of a friend.
15-year-old Mike Sadler died after falling from his off-road motorbike near Redcar in June.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His friend Ellie Sleightholm, of Easingwold near York, has already raised over £1,000 in Mike's memory after befriending him at other motorbike competitions.
The pair often raced in the same category and later became friends, keeping in touch through social media.
Ellie has now begun a new fundraising challenge, and plans to run, walk and cycle 8.4 miles every day until she has completed the length of England, the equivalent to 632 kilometres.
