A man has thanked the Great North Air Ambulance Service who helped him after he got an 18-inch metal spike impaled through his eye socket.
The 28-year-old was administered pain relief by the GNAAS team before being flown from Wark, Northumberland, to Newcastle's RVI to undergo surgery.
