Newcastle motor show attracts thousands into city centre with vintage and racing cars

Petrol heads were in their element this weekend as Grey Street in Newcastle played host to some of the world's finest cars.

Tens of thousands of people visited the first ever NE1 Newcastle Motor Show to see some of the most classic and exclusive vehicles on the road.

A racing car driven by Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel and a 1920s Rolls Royce were among the stars of the show.

Stephen Patterson, Director of Communications at NE1 Ltd who are delivering the event commented: "This will be the first time that this number and calibre of cars have gathered in the city centre at any one time. Ultimately, the focus of the event is to deliver a unique spectacle and experience that the UK has not been seen before".
