Newcastle United has given a strong indication that they will keep John Carver as Head Coach until the end of the season.

Newcastle suffered their eighth Premier League defeat in a row away at Leicester on Saturday. The Magpies conceded after 38 seconds, had two players sent off and lost 3-0.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the club explained that it had had "frank dialogue" with John Carver and senior players. But the statement went on to say that the club, John Carver and the players are "absolutely focused" on the remaining three games of the season.

Newcastle are currently two points above the relegation zone with 35 points. Their final three games are: West Bromwich Albion at St James' Park, QPR away and finally West Ham, also at home.
