Rugby World Cup: Trophy Tour announced

The details of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour in the UK and Ireland have been released today.

The Webb Ellis Cup, will tour the country starting from June 10, with a 100 days to go to the opening match.

It will be in the North from July 29 - August 8th, with some of the exact locations yet to be confirmed:

  • July 29 - Cumbria

  • July 30 - Newcastle

  • July 31 - North East

  • August 1 - Newcastle

  • August 2 - Northumberland

  • August 3 - Durham

  • August 4 - North

  • August 5 - Yorkshire

  • August 6 - Yorkshire

  • August 7 - Leeds

  • August 8 - Leeds

The trophy will also travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England counting down to the start of the Tournament before arriving at Twickenham Stadium on September 18 ahead of the Opening Ceremony.

The Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour follows the successful International Trophy Tour, which has to date completed 12 of its 15 international visits.

The Cup still has to journey to Canada (April 1 – 4), Germany(April 16 – 18) and France (May 11 – 13), before it will return to England.
