Taking time out from bringing you the forecast, we sent weatherman Ross Hutchinson to meet Shrek!

Shrek the Musical is at Newcastle Theatre Royal as part of the show’s first national UK tour. Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona and Lord Farquaad are in the region direct from London, where the stage show was seen by nearly a million people.

Ross went backstage to chat to Shrek and couldn't resist trying on one of Shrek's giant green hands!

The Drury Lane production of Shrek the Musical will be directed by Nigel Harman who starred as Lord Farquaad in the west end production,winning him the 2012 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

Shrek the Musical is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! It's probably best known to most from the Oscar winning DreamWorks Animations feature film.
