Parents meet to fight Durham Free School closure
Less than 24 hours after the government announced Durham Free School would close at Easter, parents and governors have met to discuss their next move.
The Education secretary Nicky Morgan said funding would stop after the school received a highly critical report from Ofsted inspectors.
Durham County Council said there are enough spaces at nearby schools for all 94 children on the register. However, several parents told ITV News Tyne Tees they would rather home-school their children than have them move schools again.
"It does look grim," said John Denning, the Chair of Governors. "But the fight is not over - we will keep fighting for our parents and for our children."
