Cheryl visits charity centre in Newcastle and says 'I could have been one of the people here'
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is back in the North East! She's returned to her home town of Newcastle to launch a fundraising campaign, which hopes to raise £2m for the youth charity The Prince's Trust.
The singer and X-Factor judge has been spending the day at a Prince's Trust centre in the west end of the city, where she has been meeting a handful of the 4,000 young people who use the centre every year.
Some of the youngsters who go there face drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness and mental health problems, and Cheryl says she is "only too aware" of the challenges that they face.
Cheryl has pledged to raise £2m for the charity and says she has various fund raising schemes in mind, including calling on her fellow judge Simon Cowell to chip in.
