Man's body found in South Shields back alley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man's body was found in a South Shields back alley.

The discovery was made in a back lane in Dacre Street at around 7.30 this morning. Police have set up a cordon at the location. The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.
