Olly Murs on his new album, Robbie Williams and The X Factor
X Factor success story and renowned ‘Essex boy’ Olly Murs is about to release his fourth studio album Never Been Better.
It was 2010 when Olly released his debut single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’ and since then, he’s hit the music scene with hit after hit.
The new album has been a trending topic since he began writing it in LA. Now, it’s finished and Olly is touring to spread the word.
Today, he’s in Newcastle at Metro Radio – and he told us, he just loves the Geordies!
Olly will be touring in 2015 and he is hoping to make a stop in the North East.
Olly’s success followed his appearance on The X Factor in 2009, he lost out on the top spot to South Shields singer Joe McElderry.
After becoming a huge name in pop with a steady stream of chart hits, Olly began presenting ITV2 show The Xtra Factor.
After cementing his place in the X Factor family, it is no wonder Olly is pals with Geordie judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
In the current series of the ITV talent show, Olly is backing Lola Saunders from East Boldon. He says she has a terrific voice and a terrific mentor.
Cheryl is just one of Olly’s celebrity friends. When he was on The X Factor he performed with Robbie Williams.
Years later, they toured together. We asked Olly what he thought of Robbie posting videos during his wife’s labour and if he will be called upon to babysit.
Olly said that touring with Robbie was a dream come true. Now, he is a headline act himself.
Today, Olly released his video for the single Wrapped Up.
Never Been Better is released on November 21.
