Sunderland birdwatchers gather to catch a glimpse of rare Olive Backed Pipit
Sunderland birdwatchers have gathered to catch a glimpse of the rare Olive Backed Pipit.
Less than 200 have ever been spotted in the UK and this is only the fourth sighting in our area.
The olive-backed pipit is a small passerine bird of the pipit genus, which breeds across South, north Central and East Asia, as well as in the northeast of European Russia.
It was seen in a small copse of trees near the coast in Sunderland.
