The World Cup - Here is a list of the region's footballers who are taking part in the World Cup:

JORDAN HENDERSON - Sunderland born and bred, he is in the England Squad. He plays for Liverpool. He's going to play.

FRASER FORSTER - Fraser was born in Hexham, he went to school at Newcastle RGS and is also in the England Squad. He plays for Celtic. He's the third choice goalkeeper, therefore very unlikely to play.
