Hospital sends woman home with broken hip

Hospital managers have apologised and promised a full investigation, after sending a woman home in agony with a smashed hip - telling her she'd just pulled a muscle.

Carol Barton from East Cowton in North Yorkshire was even refused an X-Ray when she asked for one.

But when she went back three days later, unable to stand the pain any longer, she was rushed into surgery for a full hip replacement.

Meanwhile Carol is urging other patients to not just always accept doctor always knows best and to challenge opinions if they feel they might have been misdiagnosed.
