Dame Edna waves goodbye to Newcastle

For more than sixty years the entertainer Barry Humphries has thrilled audiences on screen and stage with his unique (sometimes risque!) blend of comedy and music. His one man stand-up show, Eat, Pray, Laugh, starts in Newcastle tonight and is part of Barry's farewell UK tour.

Humphries is, of course, the man behind many comic alter egos, the most famous being Dame Edna Everage. While he and the characters are not retiring, he insists touring will end.

We will talk to Barry about his life, creations and the pressures of touring later today.
