Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of winger James McClean from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old joined the Black Cats from Derry City for £350,000 in August 2011, under then manager Steve Bruce. But the Republic of Ireland international has now left the Stadium of Light and penned a three-year deal with the Latics.

After finalising the move, McClean said:

McClean scored seven goals in 59 Premier League appearances for Sunderland. He was named the club's Young Player of the Year in the 2011-12 season.

He has also made ten appearances for Republic of Ireland.
