Girl group Little Mix are visiting the region today to promote their new album which is due to be released next month.

The new album has been described as being built on a strident soul and r’n’b-flavoured rhythm and featuring an astonishing vocal turn from each member. ‘Wings’ marks Little Mix out as a truly captivating new act.

The four girls - Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – have taken their time working on music for their debut album. Jade and Perrie are both from South Shields and received huge support from the town during their time on the X Factor in 2011.

Since then it is understood that they have had extensive support from the record label with the hope of following the success of their debut single ‘Cannonball’ which shot straight to No.1 in the UK charts.

Although Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade originally auditioned for the X Factor as solo performers, under the guidance of judge and mentor Tulisa Contostavlos they joined forces to become Little Mix, X Factor’s first ever victorious group.

Signed to Syco Music, Little Mix have already been wowing live arenas and crowds with their performances on the X Factor Tour, while they have been announced as the special guests on JLS and Alexandra Burke’s joint headline upcoming summer tour.

The girls have been Tweeting about their promotional tour of the UK on their official Twitter account:
