Hoppings postponed until Sunday because of rain and mud
The start of the Newcastle Hoppings has been postponed until Sunday 24 June because of the amount of water and mud on the Town Moor site.
Organisers have confirmed it will open at 1.30 pm.
This is the 130th anniversary of the annual fair which is one of the biggest in the country. It's still to be decided whether the Hoppings can be extended to make up for lost time.
