Archbishop of York praises 'devoted' Queen

Dr John Sentamu says the Queen has kept her nation united despite great changes in 60 years.

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has paid tribute to the Queen's devotion to duty at a garden party to mark the Diamond Jubilee.

He reflected on the Queen's ability to unite her people in time of great change, and described her as 'down to earth' with a great sense of humour.

He opened the grounds of his residence, Bishopthorpe Palace, for the celebration. He was two years old when she came to the throne, and listened to the Coronation in his native Uganda.
