During the Commons statement on the government’s revised national planning framework ministers assured the Darlington MP that councils will, once again, have more control over the number of traveller sites.

Jenny Chapman told the planning minister that the Teesside authority already had two very well run sites and was puzzled as to why it had been earmarked for more. Greg Clark said ministerial colleagues had already announced new rules to limit the location and number of future sites.
