ITV News Central travelled with the niece of Anthony Granville Taylor-Hurst to Germany to see the memorial and thank the German villagers who made it.

Starting in 1951 it's believed he's the oldest judo instructor on the planet, receiving his 10th dan - the highest award, at the age of 97.

Police have confirmed that residents can now return to their homes.
