Chinese lawyer, Zhang Zhan, was supposed to be released from prison on Monday after serving four years for her reporting of the pandemic in Wuhan in 2020.

Within 10 days the virus spread from airport workers in Nanjing to almost 30 other cities, including the capital Beijing.

The residents of Wuhan, the city where the disease was first detected in late 2019, are being mass tested in an attempt to contain an outbreak of the virus.
