Wirral Council

A Wirral NHS trust said it is seeing increases in ambulances coming into its hospitals and "unprecedented demand" at Accident and Emergency departments.

Alan McKeon was the community inspector for Wallasey and West Wirral at the time of the murder and grew up in the area.

The council had put forward a motion to award the honorary freedom of the borough to the TV presenter, who was born in Birkenhead and died in March aged 67.
