Two houses and a tea garden have been declared unsafe following Sunday's devastating landslip at Bonchurch, near Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight.

Emergency services received the mayday call earlier today when black smoke was spotted from Ventnor.

Plans are being discussed for a new town crier position, with the honorary role to be filled by a volunteer.
