The Salford-born singer, who has survived two brain tumours, said he wants others to get lifesaving treatment like he did.

Russell, who's known as the 'People's Tenor', will take to the stage for the charity gig at Manchester's iconic Bridgewater Hall on Wednesday 15 June.

The two have friends for over 20 years, but "Here's To Our Heroes" is the first time they have collaborated on a project together.
