Many Channel Island shoppers say they are avoiding the high street in favour of ordering Christmas gifts online.

Morrisons will invest more than £7 million into 36 convenience stores across the Channel Islands acquired through an acquisition deal with SandpiperCI.

The move, which it said will impact stores in close proximity to other sites, will reduce its store estate from 2,200 to 1,900 stores.
