MPs and residents are calling for greater regulation of Isle of Wight ferry services, owing to what they describe as 'ferociously expensive' fares.

The services between East Cowes and Southampton were suspended for several hours due to a technical failure of the drawbridge, which has since been repaired.

Red Funnel has apologised for the disruption and says work is taking place around the clock to fix Red Jet 7.
