Pooley Bridge

Roadworks have been impacting the village of Pooley Bridge, with many local businesses urging tourists they are still open for business.

A recent £7m bridge in the Lake District has been named as the best civil engineering project in the North West of England.

Opening the new bridge was done in true Cumbrian fashion - with a flock of sheep herded over my a local farmer for the first time in five years.
