Pesticides

Scientists working with local volunteers tested hundreds of samples across two dozen sites and found more than 50 compounds.

Islanders are being urged to avoid using the chemicals, as traces of herbicides and insecticides are commonly found in raw water samples.

It hopes to reduce the impact of pesticides across the island and measure any reduction in their use over the coming years.
