Northumbria's PCC has visited a group of school children to thank them for raising awareness about violence against women and girls.

Officials at North Tyneside Council are warning of a predicted £9.5m overspend in the current financial year alone, plus a further £31m in 2025/26.

An action group has criticised the decision to move the school a step closer to permanent closure by August 2026.
