Mountain Biker

Guernsey mountain bikers who have just received permission to ride on the island's south coast discovered their route was sabotaged with a wooden stake.

Jamie Cable, 20, sustained a skull fracture and widespread bleeding on the brain while helping in the search for a missing border collie.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team assisted the biker at Setmurthy Woods, who also sustained shoulder, chest and leg injuries.
