Monkeypox

There have been more 511 deaths as a result of the virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the start of the year, and more than 14,000 cases.

It follows a dramatic drop in cases in recent months.

The World Health Organisation said its preferred term for the disease will be ‘mpox’ after reports of racism and stigmatising language.
