People across the Channel Islands have gathered today to observe a two-minute silence as part of national Armistice Day commemorations.

Islanders fell silent at 11am to think of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, with memorials held in Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark.

In a letter to a charity supporting military families, the Duke of Sussex said Remembrance was also a time to recognise those left behind.
