Emergency services have cordoned off Benedict Street in Bootle after an 'explosion' destroyed the front of a house.

Crews received reports of a cardiac arrest in a semi-detached property on Douglas Avenue in Billinge village, Merseyside, at about 10.20am on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Huyton just after 7.30pm on Tuesday, 2 July and have worked throughout the night to control the fire.
