Mercury Prize

The jazz quintet beat off stiff competition from 11 other acts to walk away with the award, which recognises the best British and Irish albums of the year.

This is the latest honour Sam Fender has been up for, having previously won two Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello.

The west London-raised singer picked up the award at the ceremony at the Hammersmith Apollo, also receiving £25,000.
