One man has been seriously injured and four other people have been taken to hospital after the crash on the M6 motorway near Galgate

M6 closed due to crash

One lane is blocked with queueing traffic going southbound between J45 for Gretna and J44 for Carlisle North.

The road was closed following a lorry crash near Preston.

All three lanes on the motorway are now open again.

The crash involved a van and car on the M6 northbound.

A diversion is in place, using the parallel A6 east of the motorway between the two junctions.

A HGV trailer fire has caused severe disruption on the M6 in Warwickshire between junction 2 (Coventry) and junction 1 (Rugby).



The M6 is closed in both directions in Staffordshire after a lorry crashed through the concrete central reservation this morning.
