Lihou Island reopens after seven months following Storm Ciarán

Lihou officials were only able to return to the island this week due to high winds and dangerous tides following Storm Ciarán.

Island utilities reconnected two weeks after Storm Ciarán

The two calls were separate incidents and happened on Thursday 11 August and Friday 12 August.

The sign was meant to say dogs, bicycles and motor vehicles are not allowed on the island but instead said they are now allowed.

Tim Osborne is a historical tour guide and after hearing the story from an islander decided to research the tale in full. 

Two teenagers were left stranded on Lihou Island on Tuesday (1 September 2020).

A review is due to be carried out to see whether more beaches in Guernsey should ban dogs over the summer months.
